Next steps (text of 11/13 e-mail from Ron)
Collating what came over the wires today (gist of which is posted immediately below this entry) I think this should be our plan:
1) Proceed to invite Maryland Institute College of Art. Unless they've changed drastically over the past year or two, they do have a full-fledged Liberal Arts program. We can check their website before inviting, just to make sure--Jon, Peter, and I will devise a strategy for inviting them.
2) Proceed to invite SF Art Institute--pending Gonzalo's check of their website and Kim's confirmation that news from PNCA might change our approach to Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC) only (i.e., PNCA's response has no bearing on inviting SFAI). if Gonzalo and Kim give us a green light from their respective quarters, Jon, Peter, and I will devise a strategy for the invitation.
3) Follow Kim's lead on inviting OCAC, pending word from PNCA. If PNCA responds negatively, we can all check their website to decide if their appraoch to liberal arts/general studies is CLEA-compatible. At which point Jon, Peter, and I will devise a strategy for inviting them.
4) Decide between ourselves whether we should go for RISD or School of Visual Arts. Let's do that with some web exchange and decide by mid-week. Then Jon, Peter, and i will devise an invitation strategy, etc.
Hope this sounds reasonable. it seems implied by the flurry of exchanges today!
